This Day of Special Interest covers the aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars in music, art and literature and the ensuing develoSeen in the music of Chopin, for example, the artisits Fiedrich, Turner, Goya, Delacroix, and the poetry of Wordsworth and Byron to name but two.pment of "Romanticism", a surge of movement against the neo-classicism of the late eighteenth century in Europe and Britain. THese oeuvres will be blended together to show the overall impact of them in the first half of the nineteenth century.

Romanticism emphasied the individual, the irractional, the spontaneus, the visionary and the transcandental. Seen in the music of ZChopin for example, the artists Friedrich, Turner, Goya, Delacroix, and the poetry of Wordsworth and Byron to name but two.
